Pinup Calendar Launch

Pinup Calendar Launch

This post is all about the incredible opportunity I had earlier this year to be a part of a Pinup Calendar, Miss December.

On Friday 1st August we made the trip down to Hamilton to celebrate the launch of the Classics Museum Pinup Calender 2015. We had an amazing night at the Jukebox Diner with all the models as well as Tiffany Curtis – the lovely lady who produced the calendar.

I had the pleasure of being Miss December, my calendar photo is all about depicting a typical kiwiana Christmas. Lots of beaches, summer, sun, fresh pavlova and long holidays with family and friends. I’m carrying a picnic basket and I’m going on holiday in my beautiful vintage caravan which was amazing to shoot with. I would kill to have my own caravan like this one, dreaming of taking a road trip around New Zealand visiting all the retro, and vintage shops around the country.

The outfit I chose for the night was a combination of the blue Harley Dress and blue jelly wedges from Pinup Girl Clothing, and I found the blue head scarf at Corseterie in St Kevins Arcade (she has a secret basket of head scarves). I wanted to have a bright fresh look for the launch so I opted for my favourite MAC lippy ‘Lady Danger’ which is an orange red tone.

It was a lovely night full of delicious nibbles and drinks, good catch ups, new friends and lots of beautiful photos and outfits! Tiffany has made a mounted print of each month for us, as well as postcards and the calendar.

It was great to visit a shop called ‘Remains to be Scene‘ which I’ve had on my bucket list for a while now, I brought a really cute black woven handbag that I found in there. They had some really well priced clothing, accessories and furniture so its definitely worth a visit.

Here are some photos from the night, some were by Tony from Handcrafted Stories and the others are mine.

It was an amazing experience and lots of fun! I would definitely recommend heading to the Jukebox Diner in Hamilton grab a burger or a milkshake and step back in time at the Classics Museum.
