I went along to Bellini at the Hilton Hotel for High Tea a few weeks back. The venue is located on Auckland’s waterfront. The high tea was to celebrate Christmas and the year ending with members of #brunchclub. Brunch Club is a local community of supportive, blogger friends who… you guessed it, love to talk about blogging and brunch.
I love putting my phone down (after some foodie photos of course), and giving my absolute attention to the person I’m having high tea with. Good ol’ conversation, discovering what each miniature food tastes like, and the only problem in the world is when to order another tea or coffee.
I’ve wanted to try Bellini ever since I went along for a cocktail tasting. Not only were the cocktails delicious but the venue styling itself completely had me from the moment I went inside. There are beautiful harbour views, a relaxed vibe, open plan and a classy nautical theme (my favourite decoration are the hanging knotted ropes).
The savoury options came out on a flat spread (perfect for photos) which is the first time I have seen this. Usually everything is served on tiered platters. The food was delicious and I love that they had a savoury that incorporated quails egg.
Yum! I was also super happy to see full gluten-free high tea options available. The sweet GF option looked divine (photo below).
The desserts are probably one of my favourites out of all the high teas I’ve tried in Auckland. I found that Bellini was a little bit more creative, and offered something outside the ‘high tea square’.
Biscotti is one of my favourite things ever, and I loved that this high tea came with a huge wedge of fresh, crispy biscotti. Delicately flavoured marshmallows and freeze-dried raspberries were also part of the dessert offerings.
View the menu online and book an afternoon tea – there are four different options to choose from. Enjoy hot drinks, cocktails, bubbly or whiskey with your sweet and savoury options. Afternoon tea is for everyone, not just tea drinkers.
I loved the Bellini afternoon tea and would definitely recommend this venue. Take a couple of hours to relax and enjoy good conversation, food and drinks with someone dear to you. Bellini Hilton afternoon tea is the perfect way to relax, eat, drink and feel pampered all at the same time. The thing I love the most about afternoon tea isn’t the food itself, but the chance to dress up, sit back and let time slow down.
