A Shopping Date at Trashy Diva, Atlanta

Trashy Diva - Miss Charlotte Cake

The brand new Trashy Diva store in Atlanta is so beautiful. I went along on Thursday 11th May for a shopping date and to try on a bunch of garments from different collections.

I have wanted to buy a piece for SO long but never felt like I could justify buying online without knowing my exact size. It was nice to try everything on and see how it looked in person. I also worked out my size for everything so future purchases from New Zealand won’t be so difficult.

Trashy Diva Venice Nights Collection

I tried on the Venice Nights dress (unsure of this pictured style name as it’s not currently on the website). It’s part of Trashy Diva’s Tourist Print Collection. How gorgeous is the deep, rich blue background of this print? It reminds me of cool, balmy evenings. The perfect travel dress too due to how comfortable it was.

I imagined wearing this dress out to a catch-up with girlfriends, chucking a cardigan over the top for cooler days.

I’m wearing:

  • Venice Nights Dress – Size 10
  • Shoes are my own and are from ‘Pulp’.

Trashy Diva Pirate Treasure Collection

The coveted pirate treasure collection which I love so much. I adore the pants and shorts and love the tropical 40’s vibe it has going on.  The shorts were a size too big for me around the waist (which you can see in the photo below). Unfortunately they didn’t have my size in stock but I will definitely size down for any pants/shorts/skirts in the future.

I imagined wearing this outfit to a music festival or pool party with a bunch of colour coordinated flowers in my hair. I really adored this print, which is odd for me because I don’t usually go for novelty prints.

I’m wearing:

  • Alexa Tie Top – Size 6
  • High-Waisted Shorts – Size 10
  • Bangles – Trashy Diva
  • Rosita Bonita Lucky Coin Necklace – Trashy Diva
  • Shoes are my own and are from ‘Pulp’

I also tried on the Rosita Bonita Lucky Coin Necklace which was created specifically to go with this pirate collection. Super cute!

Trashy Diva Separates

I wanted to try a couple of other separates together to see how they looked. This is the Wine Dots 40’s button blouse and the A shaped Ashley skirt in black. I turn weak at the knees for anything 40’s inspired so this top really stood out to me. I don’t usually go for peplum style tops however I wanted to give this a go. If I were to buy this outfit, I would wear the pieces separately.  I would wear the blouse with a wiggle style skirt, and a different blouse/shirt with the skirt.

I really liked the knit fabric on the Ashley skirt. It was comfortable and not at all itchy. I imagined wearing this outfit to the office or a meeting/interview. I liked that it still looked and felt retro to me, but wasn’t super out there.

I’m wearing:

  • Wine Dots 40’s Button Blouse – Size 6
  • Ashley Skirt – Size 10
  • Shoes are my own and are from ‘Pulp’.

Trashy Diva Victory Floral Collection

I really liked this floral Louise dress (what’s happening to me?), and was surprised when I had to downsize (they recommend sizing down on the website too). The smooth knit fabric was so comfortable, none of that itch that I associated knits with. I could imagine it being a really nice travel dress. It had a really casual feel to it and felt so nice around the bust/armpit area. I also loved the length, perfectly covering my knees. The fabric was warm and cosy, and could be easily worn in winter with a warm cardigan, jacket, scarf and stockings.

This gorgeous dress didn’t come home with me, but I’m definitely still thinking about it. I could imagine wearing this dress to travel in while still wanting to look and feel myself, as well as maximum comfort. The fabric has a little stretch to it.

A ‘wear anywhere dress’ for sure.

I’m wearing:

  • Victory Floral Louise Dress – Size 6
  • Green Bangle – Trashy Diva
  • Shoes are my own and are from ‘Pulp’
  • Belt is my own and was thrifted.

Trashy Diva Psychedelic Fern’s Collection

And lastly, the collection I never liked at first but ‘grew’ to love once I put it on. The Psychedelic Fern’s print was so sassy, I felt really good in this outfit.

I was surprised with how comfortable and natural it felt to wear acid green ferns. I could imagine wearing this outfit to a Tiki themed bar for cocktails. This would look perfect paired it with huge chunky bangles, hair flowers and big earrings.

I’m wearing:

  • Psychedelic Fern’s Trudy Top – Size 6
  • Psychedelic Fern’s Sarong Skirt – Size 10
  • Leather Hair Flower – Trashy Diva
  • Black bangle – Trashy Diva

Cameron was amazing and totally helped me out with everything I needed.

Trashy Diva Berry Chantilly Collection

I left with the Berry Chantilly Hopscotch Dress and I am truly loving this 1950’s style. I never thought I would wear another yellow dress again.  Since I previously owned a yellow dress and actually couldn’t stand how it made me look and feel, I had given up on the colour. The yellow was all wrong for my skin tone and I ended up selling it. But this creamy yellow is so flattering on so many skin tones. Every single person who I’ve seen wearing this print looks amazing!

I love that the Peter Pan collar has a clasp which can be worn closed (as seen in photo below) or open. The decorative rhinestone buttons on the front have an adorable faint sparkle to them. They are perfect for a little extra razzle-dazzle.

There are amazing deep pockets, and an adorable upper back cut-out which I love. I’m obsessed with dresses that have back details like cut-outs, bows, or something extra special.

The dress I’m wearing below was a little too big for me. I actually sized down after this image was taken.

I’m wearing:

  • Berry Chantilly Hopscotch Dress – Size 10
  • Shoes are my own and are from ‘Pulp’
  • Belt is my own and was thrifted.

I had such a great time shopping at Trashy Diva, taking photos, trying on accessories and cute outfits. I also got to meet and hang out with Cameron – the gorgeous assistant working that day. She was so helpful and helped make my visit to Trashy Diva really fun.

Unfortunately I didn’t have any time to head next door to the Trashy Diva lingerie store, so I’ll just have to come back!
